As much as we may be tired of trashart; sticks and garbage may be the only materials we have left in some time. For me in 2018, sticks and plastic was the only matrerials I could afford, and I fell in love with them. There is an empheral beauty to plastic, its both danerous and so banal to work with, it came so easily alive , yet it could have killed us.
Evolution #9 was a devised puppet performance made at St. Ann's puppet lab 2018. It was initiated, led and directed by The Miscreators; Marte Ekhougen and Eliza Baldi. Evolution #9 is a futuristic mythology, and envisions when animals, human and his vaste has fused to create new life.
Performers and collaborators were Kevin Hale, Jessi Almstead, Tyler Quick and Virginia Wang. Stav German Composed and Matthew Dunphy generated sounds. All puppets, scenery and costumes designed by Ekhougen.
